  • 1.  Memory size for Custom Controls using Still Store animations

    Posted 10-19-2017 04:20
    Hello, everyone.

... Curious if someone could help educate me on the Memory size available for Custom Controls using Still Store animations? Is it based on the number of frames each animations is?

I currently have two 32-frame clips, 1 44-frame clip, and one more clip with less than 30 frames.

What is my limit? Right now, the 44-frame clip needs to load each frame each time I play it, and it also blows out all my other pre-loaded animations...

Any thoughts? Thanks for any and all help. Take care!

There is a bunch of information missing here -- sorry.

What version of Software? What Version of Frame CPU do you have (Setup - Installed Options - Frame Boards)? Finally what Video Standard are you working in?

Generally speaking in 1080i with 1GB of RAM you get to have about 104 Frames with Alpha.

By the way on newer versions of software you can see your cache for the Global store by going into the Still Store Menu (just press a Still Store XPT) then using the MORE button a couple of times till you see the cache menu selection. That will show you what you have in RAM and what your usage is per item.

    Hi Les,

Sorry to be away. Thank you for the response. My station has just finished going through its transition, and this information indeed helpful. :) I had *just* enough memory to have all three animations play without loading.

    Hope you're well,
    ~Sean
