  • 1.  Input cut to trigger CC

    Hello,

Is there a easy way to make a cut (pgm bus cut) to trigger a custom control or other event?

    Input 1 on air = aux 4 - pgm.

..or do we have to re-insert a GPO/tally to trigger a CC?

    Jens:

You can make a Custom Control that would select Input 1 on air and aux 4 to be pgm

    The CC would be:

    Pgm Bus (input 1)

    Aux 4 PGM

Typically you make a CC trigger other things like keyers on/off, starting devices, GPIs, etc... not the other way around.

You might be thinking about Memory Attributes which allow you to specify what elements are recalled with a memory, as well as adding effects to memory recalls. These elements include the background/preset buses, keyer bus, Aux bus, and Media-Store selections, as well as keyer on-air status, and transition selections.

In addition to setting which sources to recall with the memory, effects such as performing an auto transition after the memory recall or running a custom control after the memory recall, can also be included. Memory attributes can be set both when the memory is stored, and when it is recalled. This allows you to store a set of attributes with a memory and then recall it as stored, or override the attributes stored in the memory and apply different ones when the memory is recalled. A memory attribute does not need to be stored in the memory to be recalled.

    Hello Gordon,

Perhaps I didn't describe this well enough.

The whole point is to avoid using CC, because that would force you to run the whole show with the delegation bus,

    which limits your flexability.

I was thinking about something like a attribute triggered by tally.

In that way the TD would be able to do the camera cuts like normal (pgm bus) triggering attributes, and still have delegation bus free to work on.

    Example:

When cam 1 and 2 is on air, on set monitor(aux) will have input X. When cam 3 is on air, on set monitor should show input Y and so on. This is pretty simple logic driven by tally.

    Hi Jens!!!

    How have you been?

    Back to your question :)

yes you would be best to setup tallies to trigger a Custom Control for this. Then it will work even if it was in an upper ME or MiniME. What we can also do is assign GPO to an input and have it fire based on air and the use of the Roll GPO function.

The cool thing there is that they could enable and disable the triggering of the GPO with the Roll Clip button. This would also allow you to set pre-rolls so if you have an onset monitor that has signal path delay it would make sure that the monitor video has switched by the time you take it to air.

This will still require that you create some loop back GPI/O triggers but there are 34 of them so you could do this for say 17 sources :)

    Hope that helps :)

    Thanks Les!

I am sure you have already figured out a way to do this with internal logic, without the physical GPIO ;)

Looking forward to that feature in future version xx...:D

Hope the summer weather in Canada is just as great as ours!
