I have 4.0 and 6.0 upgrade notes BUT no one seems to have 5.0.

I already have the Compact Flash OS...

The release notes are a running file -- This will have everything from the start to the present.

This is GREAT - and very much needed - BUT ([I]and you just knew there was going to be a "but" didn't you?[/I]) I need the actual "software upgrade procedures" which states things such as "Preparing the switcher before upgrade" and "performing the upgrade".

Do you have that procedure for 5.0?

They are the same -- you save your stuff then do an upgrade :). I don't have the version 5 files I only keep the version 6 ones on my laptop.

I only have ONE QUESTION: When do you install the panel OS Compact Flash?
Do you: [1.] Put in the Panel OS Compact Flash AFTER the Factory Rest BUT BEFORE the upgrade?
[INDENT=2][2.] Put in the Panel OS Compact Flash AFTER the Frame upgrade BUT BEFORE the Panel upgrade?
OR
[3.] Put in the Panel OS Compact Flash AFTER upgrade BEFORE the system reboot?[/INDENT]

I MAY be wrong but this does seem to be an important step, right? ;)

Please let me know - by the way, the V4 upgrade process was pretty easy...!

I just did an upgrade today here in germany. To be honest I never factory default the switcher. I just upgrade it. You can upgrade the "Engine" but not say ok to a panel upgrade. Basically it sits there and says it needs to be upgraded and you don't have to do anything. Also you can just turn off the panel while the frame is upgrading and do the CF swap.

Just make sure to write down your IP addresses for panel and frame as your going to need to enter them again with the new CF card.

So... Opening the front of the Acuity video rack, and I see no CF card slot. Do I need to pull out boards to access it?

The CF card slot is in the Panel CPU sled. There is a door that can be opened to gain access

Do you have a photo of that, when I open the front door of the rack panel there are no other doors on the inside and there is no visible CF card slot.

It is not in the Frame -- IN the Panel. Lift the panel top and you will see the panel CPU SLED and a small plate/door with 2 screws at the front near the USB Port -- one of the ports has a cable that leads to the panel top USB port.
