Carbonite Solo Black with separate switcher and frame.
I have two Sony cameras connected to Tally outputs 1 and 2 of the TALLY connector.
I have set Tly1 and Tly2 to their respective inputs and to tally "OnAir".
"‹I have set GPIO1 to a HighL output and mode to "Tally". Same for GPIO2.
"‹The problem is that both cameras tallies are permanently ON.
"‹If I set either GPOI to Low (instead of High) the respective camera tally goes off so the connection to the cameras is working.
"‹The switcher is always setting both tallies to ON irrespective of which source is on air.
I have ensured that the 2 cameras are not selected on any other busses and have tried "ME" as the tally source instead of "OnAir".

What am I missing?

I don't understand the description in the Setup manual that says.....

"Use the Tally knob to select the tally or GPI output
that you want to set up. This is the tally or GPI
number, not the pin on the tally connector"‹
".

I thought that "‹ Pin 1on the tally connector is tally 1 and tally 1 is GPIO1 but the manual infers that these numbers are not the same so is there a menu where these can be mapped?

There is a Tally connector and a GPIO Connector -- Your configuring the Tally system to use the Tally but your saying that your wired to the GPIO Connector and then playing with those default states.

I think you want to be connected to the Tally Connector not the GPIO unless your Cameras do not supply the Voltage and need Voltage not a contact Closure. If you really are trying to use a GPO as a tally then you need to configure the GPO to be in Tally Mode.

Then in the Tally Menu you need to configure an Event that uses GPO1 not Tally 1. Scroll through the Tally until you see the GPO. You will only see a list of GPOs that have been configured as Tally Mode.

Again I go back to my first comment though that I think your connecting to the wrong connector --you should be on the Tally connector.

Hi Les,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I am sure I was connected to the Tally connector.
"‹I will test again next Friday when I am using the switcher again.
