Is this an option (witch i have to pay for) or does it come within the update for free?

    Hi Patrick,

In Vision the multiviewer(s) are additional hardware so they are not a free upgrade.

Depending on you frame QMD/QMDX and the number of MLEs you have will determine the number of multiviewers you can add.

    Hi, Les!

One more question in this theme.

How many different Multiviewer outputs with different layouts I can to have in Vision 2MLE with QMD frame?

And how many options QMD-MV3 i should to buy for 2 or 3 multiscreen outputs with different sources in layouts?

    Hi Ilya,

Sorry for the delay I was travelling and doing email via my phone -- forums not so easy from it ;).

With a 2 MLE QMD Frame you are able to Order QMD-MV1 and QMD-MV2. Each part has 10 video inputs and with version 16 (out soon) each is able to have any of the 30 or so layouts with any of these 10 inputs on 2 different outputs.

So think of it as a 10 input 2 output Card. Since you have 2 MLEs you get to have 2 of those.

So what's the deal with these layouts? Have the windows changed sizes? How is this diff than before v16

We just added more layout combinations that had been requested by users.

Just to confirm, we're still on v12 so I think we only have one option, it's now no longer only limited to 2 top boxes and 8 below?

are the 2 outputs on the card independent of each other? Meaning can i have 10 sources on output A and then a different 10 sources on output B?

Any details of being able to do more than 10 sources on the multiviewer via a software update?

    Hi Scott,

No the Processor only has the 10 Buses that feed it. In the processor we are generating 2 different layouts, but each has access to the same 10 buses. This is not a software update thing. There are physically only 10 connections from the XPT to the FPGA. Now you could select another MV (so say you want MV1A as a source in MV2A) and that would Re-Enter the one MV into the Other as a source.

What is the cost for this upgrade? Assuming 2MLE QMD frame. Is this still available? If not do you recommend a different method for multi-viewing? Thanks

I am not sure the exact cost -- you would have to contact your Sales Manager for your area -- where are you located? -- and they would be able to get you a price.

Apantac makes some nice quality standalone MV products.
