How do I change the register number assigned to a MediaStore clip? It looks like I can change it via the MediaManager interface, but my changes don't stick when I enter a new value in the register field. Is it something that I can change as I load a clip, or does the system just find the next available register? Running Version 9 on a 2 ME Carbonite.

Here's why I ask ... a client of mine has asked if we can make a "home" and "away" Custom Control so we just replace team animation clips each game. The Custom Control is the easy part, I'm just having issues when it comes to replacing the clip within a MediaStore register. (I'd been keeping their various team animations on the USB drive with corresponding CC registers that I'd copy over then cache the clips I needed for the game when I was ready, which I thought was easier).

    Thank you in advance!

You would first in MediaManager have to make sure the number you want is free -- So you would have to go to that clip and change it's ID to another ID so that you would have that original Free. Don't select the Channel to do this select the media Item in the Browser -- now when you make changes these will Save to the Database. This can also be done on the panel if you like from the Attributes of the Media on the small Menu.

Another option is to just make Team Clip Macros that are in a Bank you don't use -- Each one is just to Load the Media ID for that Team. Then when you go to edit the wipe Macro you delete the Embedded Macro and Insert the other Macro. So example. I make a Macro in Bank 8 CC1 called Team X, In it I load the Media ID (or MediaWipe Button and the ID) Then I Save the Macro. In the Wipe Macro instead of Inserting the Media ID Number here you can Just Insert the CC in Bank 8 CC1. Tomorrow you need Team Y just edit the Macro Delete the Team X Macro press and insert the Team Y (i.e. B8 CC2) into it. All can be done from the CC Editor in DashBoard. Another option is to just edit the Media ID Event and change the ID then use Replace to replace the ID in the Macro.

Les, thank you very much for the thoughts and assistance! I like your ideas, and will build and show a couple of these scenarios to my clients to see how they's like to proceed.
