    hi

I wanted to use the effects saved in memory banks using custom controls so that i don't need to change the banks every time just recalled them online via custom controls and alos tell the process how to do it. also let me know that currently we are saving the effects in the banks with the source assigned to each keyers but the issue is that i had to recall the memories and change the sources in it then i had to take it on air which is a time taking process is there any procedure to do it in someother way.

    Hi Amit,

When you start Recording the Custom Control -- Recall the Memory like you would normally. Save the custom control and now name it what you like. Exit the Custom Control Menu and you will be able to then run the custom control by pressing it and it will recall the memory.

When you store the Memories you can enable attributes (set attributes then store not Store then attributes). Now you will be able to define the memories as to what elements in the memory recall. So in your case you could leave the Key Bus selections for those Boxes to the disabled and will not change the sources when you perform the recall.

    Visit this pages http://www.rossvideo.com/production-switchers/vision-tritium/vision-u/index.html

as it has tutorials with regards to Memories and Custom Controls -- and much more as well.

Thanks Les ur tutorials are helping me alot and let me assure you that i'll keep posting you my queries.

my first query is that how can i use the GPI's -GPO's to connect any external devices like video servers, and recorders or otherwise what is the use of GPI's -GPO's.

another query is how to create a 2, 3 or 4 box effect with the help of a sequence so that it can help me in a situation where my anchor Cam-1 is on air and my corespondent is on another source then how can i go to him with some effect like squeezing anchor's source and comes in correspondent frame making a 2 way box and so on.

GPOs can be connected to the devices and then you can Build Custom Controls that Trigger those GPOs. In the Insert Event Menu Inset Special Commands you will find the GPO Triggers in the list.

Also you can attach a GPO to an input in the installation Menu. Including a PreRoll Time (time it takes from the GPO triggering until the Video Server does start to play) which will use the "Roll Clip" behaviour to trigger the servers when you take it to air.

If you need to have more than 2 Box (single Keyer) DVE Timeline then you will have to load Multiple DVE Timelines -- 1 per Keyer. Or you can always use Memories and Effects dissolve for a few simple controls. This also helps with changing on the fly and not being stuck inside of a DVE Timeline.

Here is a link to a video I did a while back for someone else in regards to a 4 box. Hope it helps

First Change from having 12 Banks of Macros and only 4 Macros per bank. Easiest thing to do is remove the dedicated assignments for the custom control banks and move to a single BANK BUTTON so that when you hold that button down you can select any bank -- well banks 1-15 since you have a 16 button panel-- and then let go and you have delegated to that Bank.

Now you would have access directly from the surface to 15 Banks with 15 Macros in them. Further you can use the menu Shot Box to access all Banks and All Macros.

If you are seeing any kind of "lag" then you need to upgrade your software..

See the above video that I have shared before regarding ChromaKeys and cutting.
