  • 1.  Setting up GPO tally for Still Stores

This question is probably best directed at Les.

Using Carbonite Black with Evertz Multiviewer.

We are putting our 4 MediaStore channels on our evertz multiviewer wall. We have used 4 outputs to get them into our EVERTZ router. We also have GPIO 17-20 wired between the router and the switcher. In Dashboard we are trying to assign the GPO numbers to the Internal Inputs. When we click on the "none" button in the GPO column to select a number, it gives us no options. We went to the GPIO tab and tried to change the triggers to GPO, then High Level, then Tally, but still nothing shows up when we try to assign that GPO to an Internal Input like MediaStore 1.

Any thoughts as to how to assign a Tally GPO like GPO 17 to an Internal Input like MediaStore 1?

    ******20 minutes pass******

Ok, so we just tried again, and when we set GPO 17 to tally, it shows up on the GPO column of the Internal Input. But when we go and make GPO 18 a tally, when we go back to the Internal Inputs our GPO 17 got blown out with "none" and we can only select GPO 18. Weird. So we set GPO 18 to Media Store 2 internal input. When we went to GPIO config to set GPO 19 to tally, we go back to Internal Input and again, GPO 18 got blown out to "none" and only GPO 19 is selectable.

Maybe we dont understand the "rules" of the GPO service.

    Thoughts?

Currently not in North America. Can't sleep and checked email :). Evertz can take the TSL protocol over UDP from carbonite. That said next question -- is it a GPO voltage they take? Why not use an actual tally? I would suggest calling tech support as they can walk through the setup with you. I have no idea why the GPO assignments are going away on you.

    What version are you running?

Thanks for the quick reply Les!

Tim Jacobs here from E! Entertainment by the way. I have a call into Jake our head engineer in order to get your tally questions answered. As for our Dashboard Version, we are running an 8.1 beta at the moment. We tried upgrading to 8.1.1 but we have a custom built video server panel for use with our Airspeed playback and that goes offline when we try to upgrade.

Ill send another reply as soon as I talk to Jake. Regardless, we may just call tech support. lol.

I meant version of Carbonite. :) That said it does open another question as to why the panel won't work with 8.2 or 8.3 that is now out and on the website as well. Maybe you can send us the DashBoard panel and what your experiencing when you upgraded? That way our people can have a look at it. Not a good thing if a panel stops working. This is a first for me where the functionality is impaired with dashboard upgrades.

Oh oh oh! Our version of Carbonite is 11.1.2.

As for the dashboard panel, we were only working with the official 8.1.1 update. We are downloading 8.3 to see if it works with our panels. If not, we are going to call tech support and have them remote into our computer and look at both the GPIO config and why our airspeed panels dont work when we upgrade. Thanks Les!
