Can Vision Switcher trigger the XPression CLIP server channels play out via RossTalk

  • 1.  Can Vision Switcher trigger the XPression CLIP server channels play out via RossTalk

A Vision customer is interested in XPression CLIP function. The Vision is now able to control XPression by RossTalk.

Then, can Vision Switcher trigger the XPression CLIP server channel play and stop via RossTalk?

Does the XPression requires CII option?

You can use Ross Talk commands as if you create a sequencer list you will be able to call the Take IDs that are now associated with it. Also if you load the Media Gateway on the XPression system you are able to use either AMP or VDCP over IP to control the Clips as well.

I can successfully control the XPression CLIP server channels to play out via VDCP on Vision Switcher.

However, how can I trigger the recording channel of XPression CLIP on Vision by VDCP?

You can make a custom control that sends the Record Command to it.

Hi Les, Thanks a lot for your prompt reply. But is there any guide sheet to show the procedures?

Start Recording a custom control -- Then insert Event -- VTR -- Select the correct channel and then select the Record Command.

Hi Les, before I set the CC, I should create a VDCP control port, what server type I should select?

The customer is running with Vision v17.0i. There are SMS4.3, Blackstorm for selection.

I have tried SMS 4.3, it seems not work. I have tried Blackstorm, it works for controlling play out channels, but not success for Rec.

Blackstorm does not have recording channel. will it be the reason of missing recording VDCP code?

There may have another reason that we don't the channel # of the XPression Rec.ch. Do you have any idea?

I will try to get back to you -- Tomorrow might be the latest. Need to go talk to the PV team for XPression as they have a Vision for controlling it.

Well there is something between both that is not allowing the starting of a Record. The Dev teams are looking into it and what to do to resolve it.
