Production Switchers

Hi Ross
I have a Carbonite+ frame with a very strange issue...
When I do a 4 camera production in 1080i25 the editor has been calling me back with a strange problem spotted in the post-production.
It seems like the switcher does a field from a completely different camera than the one I'm coming from and the one I'm going to.
Try to explain:
CAM 2 in Program > Cut to CAM 3 in program
Results in the following..
1 frame with CAM 2 > 1 Frame with 1 field of CAM 2 and 1 field of CAM 4 > 1 frame with CAM 3

This has resulted in a lot of extra editing time, and it seems to be a bug!!

Can you guys help me please??

Hi Moritz, Try changing the field switch settings... 1. Press MENU > SYSTEM > NEXT.
2. Use the FldSwt or FrmSwt knob to select which
field video transitions occur on.
"¢ F1 "” transitions occur on odd field
"¢ F2 "” transitions occur on even field
"¢ Both "” transitions occur on current field, either
even or odd
3. Press the FldSwt or FrmSwt knob to save the
settings.

Thanks for your reply... But I dont understand where a third cam comes into the switch between two other cams? Can you explain that??

Is there any way to make the switcher draws a whole frame before cutting to the next source? For me it sounds like the cuts will always be half way into a frame...

No I cannot, that is strange indeed. Can you send us a video clip of what you are seeing please, together with your switcher log files. You will find email links to both Les and myself on the switcher pages of the Ross site.

I've tried sending to the email switchers@rossvideo.com which is listed in the switcher sites under your names, but it will not accept emails from 'outside the organisation' ...
Can you supply me with a working email??

Try nspratling@rossvideo.com that other address should have worked fine though, it is for external use.
