Production Switchers

Hi ROSS switcher expert team,

We will test the Carbonite Switcher in UHD mode(MiniME 3G) for the 4K Production, but some input source is still in 1080i/50 format....

Can those 1080i/50 sources be output (upconvert) as 4K PGM or use as key sources?

Or it only can upconvert the 1080P/50?

When in 1080p mode (also must be a Plus or Multimedia) 3 of each 6 inputs can have a frame sync applied. It will do 1080i to 1080p conversion. Again only half of the inputs can have this turned on and they are in 4 groups of 6 in a row.

Thanks Les, that's means the 1080i/50 input source can up-converted & select as the 4K input.

But can this up-converted input source be used as key source in the key 2, and shown in the whole 4K picture?

Because the up-converted signal are now enlarged as 4 times its original size, the size of the key signal is also enlarged.

It may be shown in the picture in more than one quadrant.....

Hope can have your explanation if the up-converted key signal will also enlarge & shown in 4k PGM output.

No. Your only going to have enough DVE for the BKGD to scale a 1080 to 4K. Your Graphics need to be in 4K already.
