Can I capture still images and then upload them via dashboard to the switcher to use as a pic source? If so, what should the image specs be?

    Thanks,

    David

    Hi David,

Apologies for the late reply, we were all at NAB when you post came in and I have just spotted it. You can indeed capture directly into the media stores and use that capture in your production.

If you select a mediastore channel on the input bus you will see the menu show Capt above the middle menu knob, pressing this knob selects another menu where you can choose the source you want to capture from. When you capture and image (or a key and fill) they will automatically be saved onto whatever USB storage device you have plugged into the frame under a new directory called Captures, the capture will also remain in the media store channel selected until you overwrite it.

Hi Nigel, I'm not sure I was clear. I was asking if I could shoot stills with a still camera and then import those images into the media store and if so, how and what pixel dimensions and resolution would work?

    Thanks,

    David

Yes to your question. Make them JPG, TGA, or PNG files.

Attach your camera to your network or use a PC to transfer them to your switchers USB.

I would make a folder called "Camera Pics" or something like that on the root of the switcher USB.

You can program the switcher to load them into your media store, OR you can use dashboard and drag and drop them to the media store (live- if you want to).

As far as pixel and dimension... I always shoot 1080 HD quality, If your show is lower resolution such as 720 then it will auto adjust down and look great -- if your show is 1080 and you shoot in 720 then it will auto adjust to the 1080 output, but the quality is going to be a little less than if you shot natively 1080.

    Hope that helps,

    Gordon
