we are currently building two sets of media wipes and putting each set on a separate USB drive and I was curious if there was a way to keep the media numbers the same on each Drive.

have one say "Top Story" on two lines on one flash drive and another say "Top Story" on one line while still pressing the same Custom Control.

Yes. On the media attributes you can set the media ID number.

So make a plan of what number you want for each and then assign that number to each media item. You can do this from the panel or via the media manager browser GUI.
