  • 1.  PV monitor follow ME selection?

    Posted 05-07-2015 13:13
    Hello,

we have a 2 ME Carbonite but only a 1 ME panel. Is it possible to make the PV output of the Carbonite follow the ME selection on the panel? This would be especially useful when re-entering ME 1 into ME 2. Then I would be able to use my main PV and PGM monitor while mixing on ME 1.

    Greetings,

    Marc

There are no specific 'follows' that you could use at present, however you could create a custom control to select ME1 control and assign the monitor outputs simultaneously. Of course you would then have to have a similar custom control to switch back - or make one that toggles.

Can you not take advantage of some of the multiviewer windows? It is far easier if you can see both ME's at once.

You can not store the Panel Row Assignment changes in a Custom Control.

Oh yes, my mistake. However you can recall output settings easily.

Ok, but that means I need to press at least two buttons in every case (one for ME selection and another one for switching the monitor input).

    Marc:

I know you posted this about a month ago, and I was reading over some old stuff in the forums... I had this thought:

Assign an aux as your M/E you wish to "preview". Then send that assigned aux to your "preview monitor" (directly cabled from the aux output to your monitor) then you should achieve what you want to do. In doing this you would still keep the your switcher pv / pgm monitoring the same but would require a 3rd monitor or at the minimum the B-side of your switcher pv monitor.

Something I do is just select MLE1 preview on my MLE2 preview row in the cases when I need to do such a thing. I don't know if that works with your workflow, but it does the trick for me.

Yup, indeed I could use a third monitor, but I only have two available. Thus I want to use the main PV monitor for that purpose.

However I didn't even have the idea of selecting ME1 preview on the main PV bus. Actually I should really try it. It sounds like the best possible solution. Thanks for the idea, James.
