Using nkm with carbonite

    Hi ,

I've seen that we could use an nk1 to control aux or custom control on the carbonite , but can we also use an nkm or nkq ? Is there any physical shotbox with mmnemonic that we can connect on the carbonite ?

    Thanks

    Hi Philippe,

If you have a standard Carbonite you cannot use NK panels with it, it is only the Carbonite eXtreme that has the NK panel interfaces. There is an Aux panel available for Carbonite that you can use.

In addition there is a Custom Control Shotbox available and in Version 8.0 there is now a 'soft' shotbox available in Dashboard.

I hope this answers your question, let us know if you need more information.

    Philippe,

My response to your question was incorrect. I was just chatting with Les about this and he reminded me that we did indeed add the ability to communicate with the NK series panels provided that there was an NK IPS in the system.

So if you have an IPS you can indeed use any of the NK control panels and they can operate Macros as well as output routing.

    Sorry for the misinformation.

You will also note that this means that the same support is in DashBoard Router Panels -- though not really needed since that same support for selecting busses and firing Macros is already in there with version 8 :) and you were always able to build Custom DashBoard Panels to send RossTalk commands as well.

I'm trying to have this working an i keep getting a "no response" on the nkm panel . I think one of my problems is when I set the "port" in the device setup , the pdf said it is the " port on the nk-ips that the rcp-nk1 is connected to " is that the physical port on the ips ?

Ok we have tried using the port of the nk ips ( 5000) now we can chose a bus to control ( me 2 pgm and aux 1 to 4 that we have used for test ) but when we select a source regardless of what are the config the first button is video input 17 , second is input 18 and so on .... Event if we set the same source on every button .

    Any ideas ?

    Thanks a lot

One more thing , the nkm keep saying no reponse everytime we select an source on it even if it actually make a switch on the selected bus

    Philippe,

    Follow this link: http://www.rossvideo.com/production-switchers/carbonite/interface-list.html#2

and download the cutsheet for NK panel configuration, that may help solve your issues.

We just added the sheet this morning.

    Philippe,

This sounds like an issue that should be addressed via our tech support guys, can you call or email them directly?
