  • 1.  Media Channel 1 (M1) Playlist control

    Hey guys,

    I'm trying to find a way to advance to the next item in the M1 playlist directly from the switcher without a touch screen shot box or anything. Is this possible? or is the only way to have a control box or something?

    That is not possible. You can only control the playlists via DashBoard or web browser media manager.

    I'd also thought about this recently, if it was possible in the future to be able to control playlist via rosstalk / custom controls would be very handy.

    Well.......With XPression LiveCG you can Rosslinq Directly to the Media Stores and have a Still Playlist that way as an option that gives you full control of the sequencer via RossTalk.

    Hi Jim,

    There is no way for us to control the MediaManager Playlist controls from Custom Controls at this time.

    Hi Gene,

    It is not possible to control the Media Manager Playlist feature from Custom Controls.  This is actually a feature that is build directly into the Web UI.  The switcher does not know of the contents or controls of the playlist functions.

    Hi Les, 

    I went to ask this question too, re advancing Media Store playlist stills via custom controls, and found this thread.. 

    Is this something that could be added in future firmware? For Carbonite Ultra and Solo switches ? 

    We had a large conference in our venue last week, and each session in each breakout room had a session title slide.. using multiple Media Stores & playlists was a handy resource for playing out the stills.. saved having multiple Powerpoint laptops etc.  

    I was thinking of getting smart and writing a dashboard page that could advance each media store, perhaps even on a scheduled time..

    I feel I could make this work if I worked out/editted the ID's of each image, and then the CC or DB code could load each MS item via their ID, but being able to simply advance forwards in the playlist would be simpler.

    The older Media Manager is and playlist was not native dashboard it was a web only interface. 

    With the Ultra you now have the Sequencers (5 simultaneous) and you can create fully controllable Playlists that way which can also then have playlist sequence for other switcher events as well.  I would recommend using those to achieve this playlist control from a custom control.
