Production Switchers

Les I need that ou explain to me how canI trigger my xpression prime by the GPI of my carbonite.

I need when a put on air the key signal the switcher automatically trigger the xpression to put the graphics on air.

Let me know how can I do this.

Hi Charles,

Well with version 6.1 we don't need to use GPI anymore. We can use RossTalk over Ethernet. on the XPression make sure under the GPI boards you have a "SmartGPI" board enabled.

Now with it you can map Virtual GPI triggers to Keyboard actions. You will also have the ability in the protocol to send other commands. In the settings of the RossTalk on Carbonite you can enable Roll Clip on that device. I will work like a server where it will send the NEXT command to the device every time the keyer is taken on air -- thus advancing the sequencer.

I have the xpression and carbonite comunicate by Ross talk but we do not have the trigger of the function yet.

Can you explain to me in a few words because I did all of the instruction pdf recomend but yet we do not have the trigger.

Please let me knkow what else can we do

Les I double check and in the GPI board I do not have in the brand list the ROSS TALK option , let me know how can I add this.

In your version of XPression the board is probably still listed as SmartGPI.

I check but I do not have in my Xpresion the Smart GPI, I have only when I Hit the GPI Board the option Adrienne TC / GPIO card, then let me know if there is an update or what I have to do to find the Ross Talk

You have to "add new board" and then chose the SmartGPI

Note that unless you are running an unreleased version of XPression 4.0 instead of board named RossTalk you will select SmartGPI. The name is updated in version 4.0 to reflect combining of the interfaces.
