  • 1.  Mediawipe and Keyers

I have a bit of a challenge with the media wipe on our Ross Carbonite mixer.

All the keys are layered over the media wipe, is there anyway I could rearrange the layer arrangement, so the media wipe is always on top. I have tried using keys 1-4 without success.

Any ideas how I could do this without using one of the keys for the wipe?

    Hi Tarald,

If you are using the Media Stores for animation playback you would use the MediaWipe Keyer and not any of the standard ME keyers, in this mode the wipe is always over all keys. It also means that all four ME keys are available for other sources.

To use this simply select MediaWipe as the transition type, this automatically turns on the hidden transition key, then choose the source (media store 1 or 2) and load content.

I should also point out that you can easily swap position of any of the keyers you have assigned. Simply press and hold the key layer you want to change (i.e. Key 4) in the transition area, then press the key you want to swap with in the key select area above the delegate bus (i.e. Key 2). That will swap the content on layers 2 & 4, so you can easily move your keys sources to any layer. This action can also be recorded in memories and custom controls.

The layering of the mediawipe seems to depend on wether you are including keyers in the transition or not. When you just run the mediawipe with the other keyers active, it will be below key 1-4 as part of the background transition. But when you include keyers in the transition the media wipe will layer on top of the those keyers.

So it seems you won't be able to use the mediawipe from one source to another with some graphics staying underneath the wipe through the transition.

    Hi Jakob,

That is the intent for it to work "Just like a Wipe". If you were to perform any other kind of transition this would be the case and it would work that way as well.
