    Hey Everyone,

Still a Xpression newbie here but I had a quick question about making an edge wipe transition for lower thirds. The dissolves in the sequencer don't seem like a viable option. Is there a creative way i can use a mask to get this to work? Or any other method? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Sam,

    Material Manager

    >New Material

    >Select Texture 2D from the shader selection

    >select your "Mask" image (something with an alpha dissolve to it.)

    >Layer 1 of your material

    >Blending

    >Change source = ZERO

This will make that image a mask image.

Apply to a quad, and you now have a mask.

Masks will only mask objects behind it (z-axis)

So place this quad in front of your lower third (or everything you want to mask)

If you need this two wipe on, just animate this quad.

    Hope that helps.

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi Gregory,

Works perfectly!! I was a bit confused about how masks actually work... they don't actually change anything until you send them out the sequencer. This will save me from a very long work around.

    Thanks a million!
