  • 1.  CC's missing audio

    Second question for today...

We have a number of media transitions that we have build using an EMEM to recall certain switcher, keyer, and media content states. Hitting Auto Trans executes the transition. These all have associated audio which plays perfectly.

When we create a Custom Control that simply calls that EMEM and runs the Auto Trans, the transition plays without the audio.

Why did I lose my SFX?

So if I understand this correctly your saying if you manually recall the Memory and then run the Auto Trans you get the sound but if you have a custom control Recall the memory and press Auto Trans you don't get the sound?

You might want to make sure there is a pause of a few frames between the Recall and the Auto Trans and see if that resolves the issue. I am wondering if the Video and Key get loaded but not the Audio in time. Even though they are cached in RAM they are still different pointers that need to be loaded.

    Thanks Les,

I thought about adding a pause while driving home. I'll give that a try next time I'm on the switcher.

    Jeremy:

When you created your Custom Control did you send your audio to your de-embedder? (Assuming you are using embedded audio)

I usually build my custom controls with a 3 frame pause in-between each: recalling the media, changing the de-embedder audio input, keying the media, and then running the effect so a total of a 1/3 of a sec delay from hitting the CC and it doing what it is supposed to do.

Thanks for your help guys. Adding the pause fixed the issue.
