Is it possible to setup the Mira Instant Replay as a device on the Carbonite and have it roll clip when cut to using IP rather than GPI? Seem to have managed to get the Carbonite to at least "talk" to the Mira, but the only thing that it seems to command it to do is stop recording an Event. Mira is setup as ISO5, with two individual controllers - 5 Record / Control A 2 Playback / Control B 1 Playback.

Okay -- So couple of things here :) First is the configuration of the Device under the options menu you can select from a few options. One of them is going to be the Eject command sending when you cue -- you don't need this with Mira so you would want to turn this off. Some servers require you eject before you cue -- as if they were a tape deck :)

Next -- The "play back" channels are the last channels. So with 5 Records your Play channels start at Channel 6, 7 and 8. When your setting up the Input and assigning the device you need to make sure that for the F channel you set to 6 for the Channel number.

Has a suitable PDF instruction been put together for achieving this as yet? Seem to remember seeing a PDF with some instructions about interfacing the Carbonite and Mira not long after Ross acquired Abekas, but can't seen anything under the Interface List on the Carbonite section of the Ross site.

This document helped out from the Carbonite Interface List section, "Video-Server_AMP(4802DR-602)". Had added the Mira correctly to the Carbonite, just wasn't sure how to selected which playback channel the RollCip actually controlled - as soon as I turned off "Eject" and selected the correct playback channel number it worked perfectly, though did help having a 5 frame pre-roll.
