    Hi,

We have a Carbonite 2M (software version 6.2) and are planning to record programs with 3 or 4 cameras on a green screen, with separate backgrounds (from the media stores) for each camera. I want to set up custom controls so that I only need to push one button per camera to load it all up in preset. I was shown how to do it, and I got it working once, but for some reason, I can't get it to work anymore, even doing it without using the customs.

What happens is, Key 1 takes CK1, which is fine. I cut that to program and then set up the next key (key 2). That takes CK2, which is also fine. I can switch between those two angles without any problems. The issues start when I introduce a third angle. For some reason, when Key 2 is on program, and Key 1 is on preset, Key 3 steals CK2, thus taking Key 2 off completely (I have them set to float). Setting it to ask is no good because as soon as I confirm, the same thing happens (understandably). Even when I press the Bkgd button in the next transition area before pressing the next key sel button, it still happens (even though CK1 is no longer in pgm or pst).

I have set the MLE store to no recall for all keys and their attributes (this was what I was told to do when it was shown to me). I've even tried doing the same with transition and next transition. MLE recall is all set to recall for these (maybe that's the problem?).

What should I do to get this to work again?

    Thanks,

    James.

    HI James,

It definitely sounds like the memory recall attributes might have been changed. If you have not re-saved the memories that are used in the customs, try setting the recall atributes to 'memory'. If they were saved with the correct atributes that ensures that they are recalled the way it was intended. However this assumes they were saved this way in the beginning. Try that and let us know.

Sounds like first off your Recall side should be set to "memory" not Recall which is overriding all of the settings that were stored with the memory.

Next what I would do is set the Media Stores to not recall ever (you could do that on the Recall side of attributes but maybe also store in the memory just in case.) Now use M1 for Cam 1, M2 for Cam 2 etc. What you want to do is store them all using Key 1 for the Chromakey and on the Background have their correct MediaStore channel with it ON-AIR not in Preview. Now what you need to do is use the Memory AI recall mode. It will dynamically call up the "shot" into the preview of the switcher. it will move the memory resources from Key 1 to Key 2 etc as it needs to recreate what was stored on air in the Memory. Now you have a Memory for each and it will recall to preview shifting Keyer and ChromaKey resources for you. That way you can always go back-back-back-back on the camera shots and in any order.

Thanks for that. Did the trick.
