    The Carbonite setup manual has the following information about the Tally port:

    Input Voltage: 24VAC(rms)/40VDC

    Max Current: 120mA

    Impedance:

    Hi James,

    It is indeed a simple contact closure. The data refers to the maximum ratings for voltage and current that the switch relay contacts can handle.

    These ratings well exceed typical tally requirements.
