The topic header says it all, really. We can't find anything in the documentation saying what the "RollPBus" button in the Carbonite memory panel on DashBoard does.

As far as I can work out, that's to do with the serial connection on the back of the frame. Basically, it would be like a GPO but instead sending a command through RS 422. I could be wrong though.

I've just looked into this further, and yes, PBus connects through the serial port. More info here: http://www.rossvideo.com/pdf/cutsheets/carbonite-interface/Pbus(4802DR-614).pdf

Thanks for the info. I doubt we'll ever use this, so it's nice to know we don't have to worry about it.

    sorry for the delay.

PBUS is a protocol that Carbonite supports for sending commands to devices -- those that don't support AMP either support PBUS or are connected to a Lance TDC-100 or a DNF Controlls device that they use the PBUS registers to link to Clips and Transport Commands.

The Roll PBUS allows us to invoke the same elements as the other items that we support in this manner. That way if we recall a Memory to PGM and that is enabled we will make sure to send PBUS Trigger command for the devices that are going to air in that Memory.
