Is there a way to setup a Custom Control on the Carbonite that triggers a web command to remote control a KiPro rack unit?

Found this post over on the Dashboard forum, but was wondering if the control could be taken a step further and triggered from the actual Carbonite control surface itself?

Yes, it can be done (I do it). You just need to make buttons on a custom Dashboard panel that call the http commands on the KiPro Rack and add GPI triggers to those buttons. After that, set Dashboard to look for Rosstalk GPI triggers and then just tell Carbonite to communicate with it. It'll appear as an XPression device in Carbonite (because of RossTalk), but it works really well.

@hopejr did you figure out what a command string for Cueing a clip by name looks like?

I don't think they have a command for that. The web interface gets a list of the clips using "http://[KiPro-IP-Address]/clips?action=get_clips", and then select the clip that the user double-clicks on with "http://KiPro-IP-Address]/config?action=set&paramid=eParamID_GoToPlaylistIndex&value=X&configid=0", where X is the clip index. (EDIT: there shouldn't be a space in Index, but the forum keeps adding one).

BTW, I recommend against doing the CueToTimecode command or the "cue" parameter on the TransportCommand command. KiPros seem to drop the first second of audio on the clip when those command are used.

Okay so you need to get an Index list of the clips before you can cue them. Thanks.

Update: I've found that you can load a clip directly by its name:
