Production Switchers

I just recently did a full reboot and re-power of our carbonite switcher. When it woke back up it will run media wipes once and then the transition automatically defaults back to dissolve. It does this on both ME banks. Is there a menu setting to disable this function? Previously the switcher did not do this. When media wipe was selected as a transition, it stayed highlighted until physically changed. Any help here greatly appreciated.

You have the personality for trans reset enabled. This is in menu-pers-trans area.

Note that this has been saved as the RSTATE of the switcher for this setup show file. After setting this back now if you do reset the switcher it will load this personality.

You need to setup your personality settings the way you like and then make sure that you also setup how you want the switcher to "resume" it's state to when reset. Then save this as the Rstate.

There is a video in Carbonite U section that covers the memory system and attributes. This also covers how Rstate works and functions. Have a look at it if you have the time.

Les thanks for the reply, I have since corrected the issue as you mentioned and reset the reset state. In looking through the personality menu I am a little curious as to what each function in trans area does specifically. Our on site training did not go quite that deep and I don't see anything online refering to personality menu or explanations. If you can point me towards any info on that I would appreciate it.

In the Configuration for Version 12 Video Personality is covered at the 1:22:30 Mark of the Video -- Yes it is a long video but lots to learn. Trans Area specifically starts at the 1:24:00 Ish mark.
