  • 1.  Split Screen DVE Transition?

    Posted 11-01-2015 02:07
Looking to set up a Side by Side split screen, which I'm able to setup as I want on the ME1 row - but I want to be able to transition in and out of it smoothly. How would I go about setting up a CC to be able to bring Cam 1 from full screen into the box on the left next to Cam 2, and then have a choice of two more CC buttons to bring either of the two cameras back to full screen (to follow who is talking)?

Looking to have the full screen image scale down to the box on the left, and then once I hit the appropriate CC either the left or right boxes scale back up to full screen.

    Hi Andrew,

This is very straight forward, you need to use memories and Effects Dissolve. They can then be called from a CC if you want.

Create the first scene (maybe the split screen) and save it in a memory location for ME 1, when you make the save set the recall attribute to EffDiss. Now reset one of the DVEs to full screen and save that in another mem location - again making sure the recall attribute is EffDiss. now by recalling each memory the DVE will smoothly transition between each location.

You can also adjust the rate of the effect etc. by modifying it in the memory attributes, you can them create a CC macro that calls the first memory and transitions to the next with either a timed pause or a manual hold.

Also if you are using MiniME's you can create the same effect without using a main ME.

Oh of course you simply repeat this for the other DVE so that you can choose which one to bring full screen (You will need to do a key swap to bring the DVE you want full screen in front)

Memories are incredibly powerful in Carbonite, if you are using Dashboard (highly recommended) then you will be able to see all of the memory attributes available and can control any aspect of the effect you want to create.
