  • 1.  Cannot restore Switcher set file from USB

    Dear Carbonite switcher expertise,

I've got several Carbonite switchers need to be backuped its own "set" files, but only one Carbonite switcher cannot restore its own backup file ....(means backup OK, but restore cannot)

The same USB thumb drive can be used to backup/restore the "set" file at other same model/same software version Carbonite switcher.

Could anybody help to check what the problem is....

    Thanks from Jackie

What "folder" are you saving them too? Have you created additional folders/sets with names in the drive? Have you tried different folders/sets? have you rebooted that Carbonite to see if that helps? Its okay to reboot as the current working set is on flash.

    Hello Les,

Now the situation is Switcher can backup files but cannot restore them back, we have no confidence to software upgrade it from the USB.

Because without those customer files back, User will not let us do anything (like software upgrade) to enjoy new features.

In addition, after the files backup to USB thumb drive, it automatically put inside a folder named "switcher" .

Have try to copy those files into root directory, but still cannot restore them back to switcher, got the message "fail" only.

Les, you mentioned to reboot the switcher ... is it mean power off the switcher processor & power on to test again.

    regards with thanks,

    Jackie

    Les:

We are having the same issue with loading switcher sets. We had the same issue a while ago (before we upgraded to 11.1). I wasn't concerned about it however, because I intended to rebuild everything anyway. After upgrading to 11.1, we started with a fresh jump drive and rebuilt our entire show (wipes, custom controls, memories, personality etc). After doing some work yesterday and successfully saving everything, we come in today and the Carbonite won't load "All". We are able to load the "Custom Controls" and the "Memories", but everything associated with the switcher personality seems to be corrupt. I've tried rebooting to no avail. We only have one set (set_0) and we do have a couple of additional media folders on the root directory level Any suggestions for us?

Can you save to another Set ?

Can you copy the Set off of the USB and send it to us? Also after you try to "load" the set can you copy the logs to USB? Done in DashBoard Config Diagnostics. Or on the panel in the System Diagnostics menu. Then send us the Set and the Log file. Use Dropbox or what ever service you have access to (dropbox you can get a free account that is why I suggest it).
