  • 1.  Custom Control on Carbonite to Offline all Xpression Graphics EXCEPT 2

I am running a small flight pack with a Carbonite and Xpression Prime. The two systems "talk" to eachother over RossTalk. I have a custom control for a replay wipe but I am struggling to figure out how to include triggering the offline animation for all graphics that could be online. I found the "TakeOff TakeID" to remove an individual graphic, however there are a few hundrend TakeIDs that could be on and I don't want to manually add each "TakeOff TakeID ___". Is there a TakeOff range or a better way to desolve off multiple graphics? I can't simply take off the key on the carbonite because there is an animated bug on the Prime that needs to stay on all the time. The Media Stores on the carbonite are full and can not be used for the bug. Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated.

    Hey David,

Xpression works in layers, so rather than taking off specific ID's, you can clear a specific layer, clearing whatever graphic you have on that layer. So build all your graphics to go on a specific layer such as layer 0, then set your transitions to layer 5, and your bug to layer 10 (or 3 if you want it under your animation). So when you trigger your replay wipe send a clear layer 0 and it will remove any graphic in that layer.

To access the clear layer commands, pull up your ross talk menu, hit next (x2 - version 10 and later). and you will see channel, layer, action. since you have a prime it will be channel 1, set your layer (click down to change between all layers and a specific layer), change the action to clear.

    Hope this helps.

I did try clear layer, however the results are jarring to the home audience because it cuts the graphic off the screen. I was hoping for something that would trigger the graphic offline animation or at least dissolve them out.

Then you could do a resume command on that layer. This will resume whatever animation you have paused to continue (such as animate off). Another trick is to create a blank scene on that layer that has a dissolve in transition and just call that up. It works best to go to Scene director and do a take offline command after so many frames so after it dissolves itself in (and dissolves your current graphic offline) it then takes itself off.
