I find when I delete a file and I put my USB drive back in the switcher the thumbnail of the file I deleted is still shown. Any way to delete file and the thumbnail at the same time.

Hi Robert, did you refresh the directory view in the media manager after the deletion?

I would think that by updating my files on another computer then putting the USB drive in the switcher, using a second computer that I have connected to the two Ross Cabonite switchers, calling up the Google Chrome browser then selecting the folder that have my files would do it. What I have found is there is another folder that the switcher creates and there is where the thumbnails are stored. I guess what I am asking is there any way using the browser to delete files so the thumbnails go also.

Yes there is another folder for Thumbnails.

however this will be flushed once the database is updated. When you delete the file externally there is still a "reference" for that Media Item in the database. When you try to load that media id number (the number that was assigned to it) it will give you an error that this is now missing and that you can free up the ID. Free up the ID and that should fix your issue.

So to elaborate on this -- just load that thumbnail thru the media manager and it will ask you to free up the database entry. once you do that it will flush the thumbnail.

Thank you for your responce. My next question, is there any way to delete a file with the GUI interface so I do not have to delete the thumnail and media ID separately.

    Hi Robert,

Not currently, although we are working on a number of improvements. This is definately on our to do list.
