Apologies in advance if this has been discussed before...

New 2ME Carbonite being installed in a flight pack... will be working in 1080i format... Does the Carbonite need to lock to Tri-sync? or can it lock to NTSC analog black?

I'm using Tri-sync and am questioning the NO LOCK when in 1080i/60... 1080i / 59.94 shows reference... all fine except the cameras are being a bit "temperamental" ...

If I'm understanding the set-up guide, I can only use analog black when working in SD format... in HD mode, it requires tri-sync... Is this correct? Or am I missing something along the way?

    thx.

    Hi,

The switcher will work with BB just fine. It is RECOMMENDED that you use TriLevel -- this is a SMPTE Standard recommendation that we follow and suggest.

The switcher does not have a 1080i60 mode as really that is not a used standard. So when you give it trilevel it will need to be 1080i59.94 if that is your switcher mode you are in.

Thanks... yes it is locking to 59.94 fine... its just that the cameras don't like it... cameras seem happy with 1080i / 60...

Cameras are Sony... we ended up feeding the switcher and cameras (DCUs) with separate references directly from the SPG... seems like the culprit may have been a DA, which was originally going to distribute a common ref.

    All is well now...
