I am going to use an Abekas Tria Express with a Carbonite for the first time in a few days. Currently when I use an Expression as my server to play back all the magical transitions to get from place to place the first thing in my CC is 'clear all channels'... The question that I have are:

    1. Do I need to do the same, or eject the clips, while using the Abekas Tria Express as the server?
    2. Does anyone have an example CC I can look at beforehand? The CC would be Load clip.. key Tria ON.. run clip.. cut M/E.. key Tria OFF..
Mainly looking for the Tria dialog so I can see what it looks like.... I know how to build CCs on a Carbonite.
    3. Anything any has run into as far as problems would be appreciated also.

When you setup the AMP Device make sure under options that you disable the Eject Clip Command. Tria Does not need this. I generally disable the Roll Clip Function for Servers that I use for Wipes and insert the play command my self in the CC. The Roll Clip Option is also under the options Control.

The Tria does need to have (in the Configuration GUI -- separate application from the Explorer application) the AMP control enabled.

Two ways of doing the clip learn is either manually enter the Clip ID by using the CC Editor in DashBoard for the Cue Clip command. Or Load the clip into the channel manually from the Tria Explorer GUI then while recording the CC use the panel to "Cue" the clip. This will learn the ID.

Normally I would go with the Following:

    CUE CLIP
Pause 5 Frames (as your well aware play with this till it is just right)
    Play
    Cut Key X ON
Pause Y (duration till CUT -- or Auto Trans)
    ME Cut/Auto Trans
Pause Z (duration till animates out)
    Cut Key X OFF

Thanks Les, basically the same as using the Expression. I use the dashboard after making the first CC then copy to another CC location. Then I change the the clip id, from what you said I will be able to do the same when using the Tria.

Should I 'eject the clip' after it plays as I do with Expression?

XPression is able to have multiple items on the same channel thanks to it's Layer Ability. Also it has the ability to do "preview" channel where you can do back to back clips with transitions on the same channel.

Tria is a traditional Clip player / Video server so when you send that CUE command it is unloading anything that was in the channel since you can only have one clip per channel. If you want to send the Eject command at the end you could but it is not needed for this type of a workflow.
