    Hi Support,

    Our customer would like to confirm if our Carbonite Black Plus is a full 3ME production switcher not a 2.5ME. They would like to route the ME to the 3rd panel going to the output.

    Hi Eugene,

    Please provide the serial number of the switcher frame. We will use it to verify the frame type and the ME option that was purchased. Thanks!

    Yes the 3rd ME which is an option is a full ME with 4 Keyers in the Carbonite black and ultra series switchers.

    The original Carbonite / plus / multimedia frames were 2 ME with 4 MiniME. However the user was able to re-purpose the 4 MiniME into a half ME. This was a limitation of the hardware capability.

    Carbonite black and ultra have much larger FPGAs and are able to retain all 4 MiniME and be able to go to 3 Full ME. So in total you are seeing effectively 7 mix effects.
