  • 1.  Grabbing video via Xpression to play back on Xpression

    Posted 11-20-2012 00:21
as the title says.. i'm doing this.. but when I play back the avi within windows or on the timeline the speed of the video doesn't play at normal speed.. it's increased by a lot.. i can slow it down in the animation controller but I'm guessing at the speed. Is there a streamlined process to do this to take the guesswork out? Some shows are old fashioned and I have to be able to grab quickly, lot's of video clips.. Can more video playback/record options be added in future versions.. Xpression can be a deko replacement but the video tools are important to have..

    thanks

    Chris:

I'd check the frame rate on your original files.

We don't do video grabs within XPression, but sometimes I'll get sent a file that, even though it is 1280x720, it was rendered at 30fps.

The XPression Video Coder won't convert this - it just takes every 60 frames and crams them into a second, resulting in double-speed playback.

So as a guess, you might have a mismatch between the frame rate in your capture settings and your project settings.

Hey Spencer.. thanks for the reply.. I had hoped someone from Ross would respond or even return my phone call about this but nothing.. left me hanging.. hate that!

I will check the capture settings.

When did you leave a voice mail with Ross Video technical support?
