Hey everyone. I'm looking to get an idea on how much automation/custom controls you guys use in a typical production. I've seen live news that was almost entirely scripted (no idea how it was done). Just curious about other folks' workflow.

We do a lot of corporate video, and I'd like to maximize the Carbonite's capabilities.

    Hi Kevin,

A lot of the news workflows use automated production control....That way they have a full news room MOS workflow that controls the entire control room via the Rundown -- in products like our Ross OverDrive :)

For Live events we tend to use lot's of custom controls so that we can rely on being able to have the consistent repeatable events with a single button press......a while back I posted a video of building a tennis show on a carbonite.

Here is the link -- be aware this is a long video as we wanted to cover building the show...hope you like it.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing that. I took away quite a bit from that.

We use memories/custom controls to quickly recall things like 2 box DVE setups.

I've also used custom controls to make easy Dashboard Aux output control buttons  so that our PivotCam operator can pull up each camera on a reference monitor quickly.
