  • 1.  RossTalk plugin for Stream Deck

    Hi all,

Wasn't sure where to post this question...but figured since the RossTalk plugin for Stream Deck is found in the Carbonite download area, this is a good place to start.

I just purchased a Stream Deck XL and installed version 4.6.1.12887 of the software on Windows 10.  I've downloaded and installed the RossTalk plugin, but every time I try to create a button with a RossTalk command on the Stream Deck, I get a yellow warning triangle with exclamation point every time I press the button on the Stream Deck.

I've read posts here in the Ross community, and watched the Graphite U video discussing the plugin.  Still, I can't get a RossTalk command to work.

Any thoughts?  Does the plugin not work with the most recent version of Stream Deck software?

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

For some reason, Elgato removed the ability for non-javascript based plugins to communicate with their app. Ross Video has reported the issue to Elgato.

As a workaround, older builds of Stream Deck (v4.5.1 has been tested) will work. They are available at the following link:

    Hi Aaron,

Thanks so much for the great info and for the quick reply.  Will downgrade my Stream Deck software.

    Stay safe & healthy.

    Best,

    Steve

UPDATE: Elgato just released an update this morning to 4.6.3.12896.  It appears to have restored RossTalk plugin functionality.  Woohoo!

Is there any chance RossTalk is being developed for Stream Deck on macOS? And if so, is there a rough ETA on that?

@andrew no it is not. We have no plans to implement Mac. As a Mac user myself I would like it but there are plenty of other priorities that the resources need to be assigned to.
