Production Switchers

I can't find any reference if it's possible to create custom color swatches in Dashboard for key/wipe/etc borders.  I tried making a CC to fill in the numeric boxes when you click to change a border color, but the CC ends up being specific to that ME/key.  A "generic" CC to fill in the numeric color values would work if there's no way to assign colors in the Dashboard swatches.

Not really important, but I also can't find where in Dashboard to assign the BG color, I only see it on the panel LED display.  

Finally, when I take a HSB (hue/sat/bright) color value from a Photoshop 709 RGB graphic and apply it to a Dashboard border color HSL (hue/sat/lightness) I get a VERY different color.  What's up there?

HSL - Hue/Saturation and Luminance are the standard values in Video for the 10bit 4:2:2 ranges we use.

HSB is a different "formula" or representation of a colour that are used by graphics applications... as is RGB space.  You will need to use an external tool to do a conversion of the values to get a matching result.

Can you specify which Carbonite and which software version are you using? (DashBoard Status page will have the version and engine type).. When doing a DVE Key each keyer has its own Border Generator so it is not a generic one.  However when you build your boxes you can save them in a Memory and it will then have the values stored including the colour.  The default colours can not be modified.  However the lager representation when clicked on will allow you to modify the colour that is active.

It's an Ultra, I could send version tomorrow.  Though if there's no way to create a new default set or have a fast CC to input the values, software version won't matter I think.  We have brand colors that are frequently used for borders, etc, hence my interest in an alternate method than typing them in every time.  

Thanks for the HSL/HSB info - I honestly never realized there was a difference!  

Scott Myrick had a very useful reply to my post that's not appearing for some reason, but I got it in my email.  He says: "Did you convert the HSB values to HSL values? This link (http://colorizer.org) has an easy-to-use converter, with a pretty decent explanation of the difference between the two."  I've now bookmarked that color calculator!

For the BG generators you will find them on the Live Assist page next to busses -- Matte.

Ultra has always had that but that was not in the other Carbonite until recently... That was one of the reasons for knowing the Engine and Version..
