Production Switchers

Hello all, I'm curious about the Field Dominance selection under System setting.  It is currently set on Field 2  and has been since I've worked with this already setup switcher.  I am not sure the reasons why that was selected or what I could expect to observe differently if I were to select Field 1 or Both.  I presume there to be a benefit under certain conditions to one over the other. What should I consider if I were to make an educated selection?

This means that when working in an Interlaced format you are going to always perform the transition on Field 2...  With set to Both then it will happen on which ever Field is next after the "cut" button.

Years and years ago there were edit systems that did everything on Field 2 and thus having the ability in a switcher to set to Field 2 was desired.

These kinds of restrictions don't really exist in modern Editing tools.

Thanks Les.  Sounds to me like I am not going to really notice anything different then.  Logically, if I had to choose one today, sounds like Both would make the most sense.
