Hi Alan, the Carbonite Black Plus has 8 floating DVEs. Each ME has 4 full keyers; each miniME has 1 DVE key and 1 full keyer. There is a maximum of 3 MEs and 4 miniMEs.

The Carbonite's Status page on Dashboard will show you where each DVE is being used.

Yes, you can do 4 full alpha keyers at the same time on ME1.

Could you clarify what is not working on Key 3 and Key 4? Can sources be assigned to key 3 and 4? Do the key mnemonics light up on the panel? It is possible that the panel row is delegated to a miniME, which has 2 keyers.

There are 2 floating chroma engines in Carbonite Black Plus.

Are you keying a single camera source on 5 different backgrounds? Or keying 5 individual camera sources?

If you are keying a single camera source, you can turn on layer mode on an ME, and use its Program and Clean Feed outputs as Video and Alpha sources on any keyer.

But if you are keying 5 different camera sources, then chromakeying 2 sources is the maximum.
