  • 1.  Feature Request - Status and Flush/Purge for Media Store RAM

    Feature request -

It would be great to have a little more insight and control over the Media Store RAM, which currently is a bit of a black box. I would suggest on the Status page in Dashboard similar to how you can see your DVE resource allocations, there would also be a status for how full the RAM cache is for each Media Store pair (1/3 & 2/4) as well as a way to flush or purge that RAM.

I operate consistently on a Carbonite Black 12G, but I imagine this would be applicable on the rest of the Carbonite range as well.

Separate request that I'm sure you've heard before, but being able to assign/re-assign the Media number for a graphic or clip would also be really helpful.

Thanks for the Feedback and request.

Note that on the second item you can do this from the media Manager.

select the item in the database viewer -- ie click on it but don't "cue" it.  On the ITEM DETAILS pane make sure that it lists "DATABASE" and not a channel number.

The first editable field is the Media ID number.  Now if you want to make it the number for something that you already have then you need to first move that one to a different number and then move the desired on to the desired ID.

Thanks for the quick reply Les. I must have always cued items when I've tried in the past so I couldn't edit them (which makes sense now that I think about it). For me it hasn't been a big issue as I just update the few custom controls that need it, but that tip will save a little hassle in the future.
