  • 1.  Keep effects durations as stored

While I appreciate the functionality of attributes, most of what I do is to simply recall the effect as I stored it, with all the same effects times. I am not understanding fully how to do that.

As a simplified example, ME 1, memory 1 has a DVE box. Memory 2 has the DVE slide over,  EFF Rate of 30 so that the DVE moves at 30 frames. All of this is stored in Attributes with Recall Mode: Effects Dissolve, Effects Duration From Memory, Effects Duration As Stored.

In MM1, I have a similar effect, same attributes set however it carries over the same EFF Rate as the effect in ME 1. Changing it in MM1 also changes it in ME 1. I have different effect rates for each effect.

I have tried various variations of effects dissolve, ME Rate, Key Rate and have not discovered the way to have each effect recall as stored with the required rate per memory.

    What am I missing?

Also, is there no rotation in the DVE?

    Carbonite / Touchdrive.

Side note: the memory panel having the option of controlling different ME's without having to change the panel delegation is wonderful. Just lay out the memories in the order you need and each ME does what it should do. It's a nice feature.

    RECALL Attributes are overrides.

STORE attributes are what is stored with each individual memory (then on the RECALL side you need them set to ORANGE for the ones you do not want to have an over ride applied to) there is only one RECALL mode so if you set that to EFF Dissolve it will over Ride the Stored attributes and then Rate is also going to be applied..)  There is only one set of Global Attributes not one set per ME/MiniME.

No Rotation in the DVE as these are 2D DVEs

    Les,
That makes sense. Straightforward. What I am not understanding is how do I get a different effects duration on different memories since EFF RATE on the memory pad seems to be global? All Recall attributes are orange (As Stored).

Also, to make my brain hurt even more....
I did a STORE-ALL. Called up MME1 via a user button. Only MiniME 1 is displayed in "Inclusions". On the memory keypad, I turn on LOCAL ROW, then did a simple STORE - BANK 9 - 7 - ENTER. The attached image shows what Attributes - Save showed. To me, it shows all sorts of things stored. Is this correct?

On the physical panel keypad if you want the memory to recall as stored then don't press EFF Dissolve as that is the equivalent of doing an OverRide...  for Memory mode all three of the memory type buttons should be OFF.

    Les,
If you are referring to the PGM, AI and EFF DISS button on the physical keypad, in STORE mode, one needs to be on. In Recall, with all of those buttons OFF, the effect is still recalled at whatever rate is displayed in the EFF Rate display on the memory panel. In Attributes-Recall, Effects Duration from Memory is brown. Recall Mode is "As Stored".

I noticed that if you recall the memory from the Memory Recall touch screen, you get a different rate than from the physical memory panel, but I don't see a way of knowing what that rate is.

you program that rate in when you store the memory on the store side attributes..

I will track that as a bug that the EFF Rate is being over ridden by keypad value when you are not forcing the EFF mode.
