  • 1.  Touchdrive Custom Control triggering of buttons in Dashboard custom panel

    Hello,

    I have a Touchdrive running its own instance of Dashboard with a custom panel. The custom panel has three buttons for switching cameras to our Disguise servers.

    Can I use custom controls on the Touchdrive to trigger these buttons on the custom panel? If yes, does this require a device setup on the Carbonite Ultra with either the Touchdrive IP, Carbonite Ultra IP, or a loopback address, and do devices still have to be assigned to an input for the Carbonite to send commands?

    Finally, would this require the use of a custom control GPO trigger with the Rosstalk GPI Listener enabled in Dashboard?

    Hi Shane,

    You need to Make a Device (RossTalk Generic) that is going to Send to the IP Address of the TouchDrive Panel.

    In the TouchDrive panel you turn on the Device Listener and pick a port (I did 7791 for this one) makes sure that the above Device you setup is set to send to that port as well.

    In the Custom Panel Buttons open them up and in the Trigger ID field enter a number (that will be the GPI that you use) 

    Now build the custom control to send the Rosstalk GPI event to the TD panel Device that you setup...  Now your buttons should all be good.

    Very much appreciate your quick response, I was going down this path and I think I just need to correct the Trigger ID to match the GPO number.

    I will give this a shot and report back.

    UPDATE: Tested and confirmed these CC's are triggering the custom panel buttons.

    No problem ..  I built a custom panel that had 3 buttons to trigger 3 custom controls on my switcher... (change a source on an Aux) then build 3 More Custom controls that would send out the RossTalk GPI event to the Custom panel running on the TD Panel.. 

    It worked perfect... don't forget to keep that custom panel open in the future :)

    Small tip :) .. once you have the dashboard open on the TD panel with the Switch Live assist open and the DashBoard custom panel open if you go to file in dashboard and exit.. it will close dashboard and save that config as the default layout and then relaunch..  From now on it will always power up and load that config.
