Hi guys, I am looking for some insight on functionality that would help eliminate the accidental, infamous double cut.  A number of times over the years, I've found some sweet spot in pressing the cut button, where when I make the cut, lets say to cam2 from cam1, the cut happens and almost instantaneously cam1 gets cut back in.

I've found settings, for example, when i use the "key auto" that allows the transition finishes even if i by mistake hit the key again, but I can't find anything for the cut button where if it is hit twice within "x" amount of time, it ignores the second press.  I thought the "double press" functionality might do it but it doesn't seem to help.  I likely don't understand what the double press option is intended to do or how to use it.  Any help please, otherwise I just need to be more committed when pressing the cut key to avoid this little problem! :)

The Double Press value is for use with a few controls that require a double press to change menu function.

For switchers with Colour Correction and Proc Amps (Carbonite Plus, MultiMedia, Black Plus, Black Plus 12G, Ultra and Ultrix Carbonite) this will change the panel menu to the CC/PA menu to adjust that source.

There is no way to "lock out" the cut button for a duration of time.  The Auto Trans is only blocked during the transition....  But not for any duration after the transition completes.

The Buttons we use have a Throw requirement of 3.5mm ..  if you are holding the button down partially while resting on it then this will place the potential for performing erroneous button presses.  Resting on the button is fine as there is required "weight" to move the button... however with 3.5mm of travel the button would have to be pressed in to some degree to get it down to trigger a second event.

Maybe record yourself for a show to see if you find any habits that you may not notice that take place during the "heat of the production".....

Thanks for the quick response Les. I'll continue to try to be more mindful of how I rest on and actuate the button.  It's rare but does happen so I had to ask the question.
