substitution tables

I'm trying to make use of the substitution tables. Can I put Program on a mini ME but anytime I put Camera 11 on Program the mini ME will take Media channel instead? Here's what I'm up against, Program is feeding a big screen within the venue and is quite featured in a tight camera shot (Camera 11) the ask from the production is that anytime we take Camera 11 that a logo will appear in the big screen. I have a pretty good idea of how to handle this via custom controls but thought that a substitution might make it easier.

Okay so you can not use Substitution tables outside of MultiScreen and MiniME function. Other Buses are not supported at this time.

However you could make a DashBoard Custom Panel in Version 8.1 that will use Visual logic to do this for you. Basically it will track the Bus and anytime that source is on the ME PGM Bus then it will change the MiniME PGM Bus to be the "alternate" source. Then when that source is removed from the PGM bus it will then set the MiniME PGM back to the Switcher PGM Bus.

It is really easy to do -- I will try to make a quick video and post it so you can create your own. Note that the DashBoard Custom Panel would have to be running on the PC/MAC or else this will not work since it is doing the tracking of this information.

Okay so use this Video as a reference -- It is not edited and is not that great but this was the only way to make it really quick for you.

Note it is 607 MB in size so you will want to download it then play it back.

Works like a charm. Thank you Les

I have been trying to do the same but modifying the logic with multiple conditions like for IMAG where say cameras 3, 4 and 6 are shooting crowd shots and I want MiniME1 controlling the IMAG screen to take camera 1 or 2 every time I choose one of the crowd cameras. I'm trying to nest if conditions but having no luck. Any ideas or is this just not possible?

    Thanks for the help.

Okay in the first image you see what the panel would look like with 2 Aux Buses used as the controls for the definitions.

In Image 2 you will see the DashBoard Visual Logic for this example.

In Image 3 you will see where I remove the need for the Aux Bus as the Control for the Substitutions and instead use Hard coded Values. Here I also show going from 2 values to 3 values

Now from the original link and video you will see how I made the Inputs in the bus smaller -- the column on the Left shows you the VALUE for the INPUTS/SOURCES. So 1000 is physical (SDI) input 1 and 1001 is Input 2 1002 is input 3 etc. There are gaps between physical inputs and then the Internal inputs. Easy to see by selecting the bus and then looking at the constraint list.

From 3 Values to Any number of Values you just continue the process.

Here is an even easier way -- using the "SWITCH" block. Thanks goes to DashBoard peeps who showed me this when I was asking about a If/Else IF block :)

How about taking out a Key when going to my replay inputs, and then have that Key come back on for other inputs? I also still want to be able to control my Key manually if need be.

Well you could make two Custom Controls that will use the Include Key function that would track with your PST Bus I guess and then that would trigger the CC which could set the next trans area to follow what ever you like. I mean you could also make the events for doing these includes -- however it is probably easier to build the 2 CCs to be the keyer combinations that would would like to see the next trans area configured for.

I am trying to avoid CC's for this as it always creates confusion even though to me its pretty simple.

You would not run the CC -- They would be in a Bank that you don't even need to see on the panel like Bank 8. It's just that the insert events has an Include Key function. then have the DashBoard panel do all the bus tracking.

Got it to work. Few Hiccups I could for see, but it does the trick.

I also have an MME that goes to our LED Board. I have setup some other substitution tables in the past, but ran out of time to really test. What I am finding is I can only have one source sub. Below is what I currently have setup, but it is only subbing on input 6 and not 15.

This is where you need to use the Switch Block (see post 7) or you would have to "Loop" out the False to the Next Input Block -- Like in post 6 images.

It work for me with your dropbox video, but i see maybe 5 frame of the source that is being subtitute before to really see the subtitution so i see a flash of my clean on MiniMe... do you have a way to get no delay in the subtitution. I've try the other method without any success

Same for me , I've got a flash frame of the source I want to substitute (1frame)...
