Those Panels can be used with your Carbonite switchers!
Absolutely you can assign Buttons like you would for a Router. The switchers have a "MAP to Table" based on which Carbonite type you are controlling (documented in the Manuals) and we also have a LABEL File which will change the Global Labels to the "default" switcher names that you can modify and then upload to the Panels... You can also have different Labels on different Panels... IE an Aux Panel gets Input names and Aux Buses/swr buses while a panel you want to use as a Custom Control Shot Box would get different labels.
Aux Bus Application:
The Destination Mapping of buttons and names is listed in the Table and default label file. Destinations are Switcher Aux Buses, ME Buses that you would assign like you would have assigned an OUTPUT Destination in the NK Router... That Button is now selecting which Bus the Source Selector buttons are going to select. Workflow stays in the traditional "DESTINATION THEN SOURCE" behavior.
The Source Mapping of Buttons and names is also listed in the Table and default label file. Sources are Switcher Physical I/O and also the "Internal" sources like Media Stores, BKGD, Clip Player and also the "Bus Follows" where sources just follow what is selected on another bus... ie following along with the PST Bus or Following with another AUX Bus..
Custom Control Shot Box Application:
In this you will want to assign the XPT Select type if you want to be able to have dedicated Names. The Panel are not able to get dynamic names from the Switcher so using the Destinations as Banks and the Sources as CCs would mean that you would have to keep the source names generic 1-32...
okay back on track... Use the XPT Type so that you can pick the Destination (CC BANK) and the SOURCE (CC Number). This will give you that one touch button that will fire off specific Custom Controls on the Switcher.
The Table for the Carbonite can be found here (use the column for Ultra) in the online User HTML Manuals:
http://help.rossvideo.com/carbonite-device/Topics/Hardware/Aux-Panel/Ross-RCP-ME.html#topic.ross-rcp-nk1The Label File is in the Downloads section on the Carbonite Ultra Webpage... but here is the direct link to that file:

Subject: Using NKQ-RCP to fire macros??
We are going through a control systems upgrade, we are losing our NK router (we will have 2 switchers, a Carbonite Ultra and Touchdrive) and I was wondering if there is a use case for trying to keep these NKQ-RCP panels around. They still worked well and seem well built, would hate to just toss them.
I tried reading some documentation but it was going over my head, was almost curious if we could use the RCPs as like a shot box I could fire macros from? Or use them almost as remote AUX buses? Or just any other use case someone can think of?
If anyone has info on whether anything else is doable with them or I just have my head in the clouds, I'd appreciate it.
