Time Code clock in Multiviewer

Hey Ross, Like the new updates in the software.

I wanted to take advantage of the new clock option in the multiviewer. So I turned it on and wired our house LTC time from our GPS clock system into the frame. I have 2 things I would like you guys to add to the options menu. A way to force the Timecode to read in 12 hour mode versus 24 hour mode. AND this is a biggie, add a way to turn off the frames digits. Those things are flying by and its distracting on screen. I for now have changed it to work off the carbonite system clock, but would really like it working off our house clock as it matches all automation. Our clock displays that take this same LTC signal can display it in 12 hour mode, so I know it can be done. I guess the GPS clock just send the raw time in 24 hour mode including the frames. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

Grant, Thank you for the feedback. All valuable comments that I have passed along to our development teams.

Glad you like the updates, we will keep them coming :).

    Hey Ross,

Just updated to the new software. Like the new clocks. Two questions, Does the time code clock reset during transitions? How do I get it to start?

Andrew, The clock will run all the time and is not reset by transitions. It needs to be set to either internal time or external time code input.

To set the internal clock time go MENU > CONFIG > NEXT > Clock. When using internal time keep in mind that this is not an 'atomic' clock and may lose accuracy over an extended period.

    Hi Andrew,

You will see all 0s because you are not feeding external LTC into the switcher. This is not a counter clock like Vision but rather a time of day clock for viewing the time from either the internal system clock you set or from an external LTC source.

Thanks, Now is this a counter in the near future for carbonite? That is one thing I missed from our old switcher.

No there is not a near future plan for a counter.

I think a lot of directors would love to have a counter on the carbonite. I orginally thought that was the update. Thanks for the info.

We second Grant's request to remove the frame digits. Other than that, love having the timecode on multiviewers!

Yes it will be added as an option in an update later this year. Probably the Fall release after IBC. As we get closer we will have a better idea of when the date is and be able to share more information about the release as well.

Let's just say there are some features coming that will really really make you happy.

    Hi,

How do you change the time-clock (24h) or synchronise it to the real time and time zone?

    Thanks.

    Hi Stephane,

There are two choices, internal clock lock where you simply have to set the time locally or external Time Code lock, if locked externally it will always show you system time based on however you have the TC generator set, or of course it could be Time Code from GPS.

You can set it to 12 or 24 hour in the MultiViewer menu either from the panel or dashboard.

    Adding to Nigel's response.

If you don't have the LTC connected for external TC then you will have to setup the Internal Clock -- this can only be done from the panel under the Config menu. At this time it does not support DashBoard Configuration or NTP.
