  • 1.  Setting up RossTalk for the Dashboard

    Hi,
Apologies if this is a simple problem but I am rather stuck. I am looking to set up my Dashboard (version 8.2.0) so it can receive commands from a windows PC to fire custom controls I have set up. Both these machines exist on the same Ethernet network (I can ping the IP address but no command protocol appears).

I know the Dashboard's IP address and I have turned on GPI listening for Port 7788 but I am unsure what to do next. When I tried to set up the Ethernet communications (http://help.rossvideo.com/carbonite-device/Topics/Devices/RossTalk/RossTalk.html#topic.rosstalk-control) there was only the option to configure an Expression rather than a generic_1.0.

I know I am doing something stupidly wrong so any assistance would be gratefully recieved

    Adam

Your probably on an older version of the Switcher as well. Carbonite is up to v13.0.1 and DashBoard is now at v8.4. You should download both :)

Thanks, if I download and install them, will I have to build my layouts and camera connections again or will they port over without a re-build?

all switcher files will be able to be loaded. The current set will be the same when it reboots after the upgrade.
