Hi Clark,
Preview is not a Bus. Preview is an output that is derived from the configuration of the Next Trans Area. Depending on what you have setup in the Next Trans will Define what you see in the "preview" output. If the only thing you have selected in the Next Trans is BKGD then Preview will display for you the source selected on the PST Bus along with any Keyers that are currently On Air.
For those basic kinds of transitions of going from source to source then you are seeing on Preview the PST bus source and your next trans just has BKGD.
Setting the PST bus with your source is the correct action to use with the RossTalk command.

Subject: Carbonite Ultra Rosstalk XPT to preview
Hello,
I'm looking for the command to send a source to the preview XPT on an Ultra using Rosstalk. When I'm looking at the commands here: Carbonite/Graphite Commands| Rossvideo | remove preview |
| | Carbonite/Graphite Commands | | The switcher can be controlled from a remote editor or computer via RossTalk commands. These commands can be sent to the switcher over an ethernet connection. Carbonite accepts RossTalk commands over ethernet on port 7788. This allows you to perform various functions such as triggering a GPI, or sending commands to the switcher, such as transitioning a key. | | View this on Rossvideo > |

it shows how to send a source to either the program or preset, but not the preview. Am I missing something?
