I am back to the very basics on this question. After years of learning on and using the configuration originally setup, I've realized as I learn more, that there are more efficient and powerful ways to use our Carbonite+ frame / Carbonite Black panel with regards to ME/MiniME setup. Obviously everything has been built around the current config (macros, memories, etc.)
Is there any commonality or industry preference or hierarchy in the way folks use these or is it just whatever works for you. As shown below, we are using MEs/MiniMe's in a way that locks them out from being used in more flexible ways.
Aux1 feeds campus to campus streaming platform via ME1
Aux 2 feeds in room L/R projectors via ME1
Aux 3 feeds stage displays
Aux 4 feeds LED wall
Aux 5 feeds center projector for virtual teaching needs via MME3
Aux 6 feeds online/record feed via MME4
Aux 7 feeds all displays/TVs around the building via ME2
Obviously we are dedicating MEs / MiniMe's to things some may normally use only Aux cuts for but in these cases, I need dissolve transitions at times as we sometimes mix separately on ME1, ME2, MME3, and MME4 depending on the moment in a gathering (preservice digital signage, online hosting, wide online cuts, etc...though many times ME1, ME2, and MME4 are all matching.
It was recently mentioned to me that I could use a custom control to make some of these MiniME transitions to the Aux and then clear out the MiniMe for another use. Maybe that is the way. I guess I'm trying to learn from the community what is normal if anything. As of today, I haven't needed the added capability as its been pretty simple, but if I wanted to use MiniMe's for further DVE functionality, black and white effect, etc I may find I don't have the resources I'd need.
Thank you for any further knowledge on the matter.
