  • 1.  Building Wipes using still store png sequence (with alpha)

    Hello all,

    I have tried to build this station logo wipe but I must be doing something wrong as the custom control I built to fire the wipe and cut sources underneath it isn't working out using OverDrive 10. If I disable the editor and fire the CC using the vision panel it does what I need it to do. When using OD, I get this error...

    YOU CANNOT ACTIVATE DSK1 OR DSK2 WHILE USING PGM MLE AS AN EFFECTS MLE, IN OVERDRIVE EDITOR MADEWHEN PGM MLE IS NOT ON AIR.

    The wipe was built on MLE2, using Key 4 and still store channels 1 for the graphic and 2 for the alpha channel. Its a Ross Vision switcher with 2 MLEs, ODv10 and a vision panel.

    Anyone have a guide on how to properly build a still store wipe would be greatly appreciated! I'm lost, probably due to my lack of knowledge about the workings of the Vision Switcher.

    You might Be able to work around this by adding a command at the beginning to turn off the editor. Then at the end turn the editor back on.

    I can not remember if this will stop the rundown from auto advancing to the next item so if that does not work then you can add another command to advance the OVD rundown at the end as well.

    If it was always just me Directing using this custom control I would try it, but we have generally 5 different directors a day sit down at our station. I wouldn't want to build something that they may not be able to fix quickly if it messes up. Although that seems like a possible work around.

    We had wipes like this before but we recently got a new logo and thus it needed to be built. I wish I could have gotten to look at how the old ones were built before someone deleted the custom controls.

    What keyer are you doing it in??

    Are you using the MultiDSK entry or are you using ME Keyers 1 and 2?

    I'm using key 4 on MLE2.
    What and how do I use MultiDSK if you don't mind me asking?

    This is how we built our wipe. We are using SS1 for the main GFX and SS3 for the alpha. Hope this helps if you have any questions please ask.
